accessible and entertaining
I hope I’m being accurate when I say that this is a (relatively) accessible podcast. Reading philosophy and psychology are more hobbies for me than anything else, so I don’t have an expert grasp of the two fields. I generally find that I get the gist of their arguments by the end of an episode, with the exception of the movie episodes, but that’s because I’ve seen even fewer films than David. It’s also nice to have a philosophy podcast where I don’t need to do days worth of research and reading to comprehend fully (i.e. Partially Examined Life, which I also love, but time is a finite resource). I almost rated this four stars because I felt that sometimes Tamler and David ramble and argue excessively (well they pretty much always do, but sometimes they really get stuck arguing in a circle, and that can be frustrating). But then I realized that’s part of the charm of the podcast. And if you get sick of them arguing you can listen to an episode with a guest - that usually focuses their conversations.

By taking on some pretty heady issues without taking themselves...Read full review »
