“The short description is that this show is a tabletop RPG actual-play where the crew randomizes as many details as possible in a variety of systems.
What that description leaves out, however, is that the group is made up of some of the smartest, wittiest, and most committed folks in RPG podcasting. They really commit to turning randomly-generated attributes into a coherent story with believable characters (at least in context.)
They are mindful of diversity and representation, they listen to each other and build collaboratively, and they make some really risky choices—both in terms of chance and emotional vulnerability.
If you like tabletop RPGs at their finest, you need to listen. The Call of Cthulu season is my favorite so far.”
