SExism and adherence to problematic tropes abound.
The overall quality of the show is good, the sound design is great, the voice acting is good. When it started I thought it had potential. That being said, there’s abundant problems throughout the humor of the show, including unwelcome sexual touching being reduced to a one liner. The female characters fall into two overused and problematic tropes, the ships AI is passive-aggressive controlling, and the science officer is neurotic and flighty. The male characters are both neurotic and incompetent. They clumsily added a new character just to kill him off, which wasn’t a loss because he was a carbon copy of the other two male characters. The “humor” is so predictable and there’s so much cross talk and interruption humor it looses all its comedic value. Like I said, I thought it had potential, but it really missed the mark.
