Immortals is the eigth studio album from Firewind.  Immortals is a concept album focused on the battles of Thermopylae and Salamis during the second Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC. On July 2016, Firewind entered the studio to begin recording a new album. In November 2016, it was announced that the album, titled Immortals, had been completed and would be released on January 20, 2017. On November 25, the band released the first single from this album, entitled "Hands of Time".
