“As the podscape continues to grow with endless properties featuring celebrities watching something, or just hanging out and phoning it in with other celebrities, it feels like non-tent is everywhere. Pods like “Wanna Hear Something Weird” land like manna from heaven by embodying everything about why the medium still inspires hope for finding and enjoying shows worth cherishing. Laura and Tom do a fantastic job of deep diving the ins-and-outs of truly fascinating stories, approaching them with genuine interest, a good sense of humour, and a chemistry that feels as natural as sitting at a table with your well-read friends listening to them get into nitty-gritty on some neeto stuff. They parse the details of the weird tales with a great balance of all these things. I’m still thinking on the ep featuring the Stroudsburg Rain Man, and conjuring the images a month later. Fun and informative. What more could you ask for?
