Description
Chrystal Evans Hurst joins me on the podcast to discuss walking in the Spirit. The author of The 28-Day Prayer Journey, Chrystal emphasizes how important it is to be in constant connection with the Lord and she gives practical tips to practice that connection. I pray her conviction and faithfulness to pray inspires you to pray without ceasing. A little bit about the guest: Chrystal Hurst is an energetic, fun-loving “girl-next-door” who loves to encourage other women in fulfilling their full potential in Christ. Chrystal is a gifted soloist and speaker. The eldest child of Dr. Tony and Lois Evans, the Word of God has surrounded her for her entire life. As a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, Chrystal serves by leading the congregation during the time of praise and worship. She also loves to share and encourage women with a heart to inspire them towards a deeper relationship with the Lord. Chrystal is a writer. She has blogged for years to chronicle the journey of her family and her faith. Most importantly, Chrystal is a dedicated wife and mother of five and serves as the COO (Chief Operating Officer) of the Hurst household. Chrystal and her husband, Jessie reside in a small town just outside of Dallas, Texas. She is being refreshed by chatting with people at the picnic table on her front lawn. Noteworthy quotes: “When you realize there’s this open line of communication between you and God-- and you’re using it-- it changes the way you see your day and how you operate in it.” - 10:29 “The God who created everything is saying, ‘come talk to me’.” - 15:40 “One of the ways I can be-- be still and be at rest-- is to be in conversation with God.” - 20:10 Questions for consideration: 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Our sinful nature rebels against this- what reminders or rhythms do you have in place to remind you to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances? What people or places (prayer closets?) encourage you to do these things? If you don’t have reminders, what can you start doing to remind yourself of these things? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/waterwithlemon/support
