Dishonest and manipulative
This podcast spreads dangerous misinformation, especially about lgbt people, by cherry picking studies and leaving out a ton of information. It is NOT true that being gay takes 20 years off your life; that’s based on a single problematic study done during the AIDS crisis and even the authors have come forward to say that if they did it again today, life expectancy would be far better. And everything—including that Stockholm study—suggests that increased depression in the community has to do with being marginalized. Sweden may be better, but that doesn’t mean it’s without homophobia. This information is easy to find but somehow never comes up on the podcast. And that’s just the beginning. There is all kinds of nonsense hidden behind these friendly-sounding words, especially about sex and relationships. Please, don’t use lectures as your primary source for relationship advice. They constantly make statements that are not supported by reality.

I'm so impressed with JP's teaching and his ability to teach the Bible in a way that relates to young adults. I look forward to every message and also tune in for the Sunday messages. I have recently become a monthly donor.Read full review »

The Porch has helped me grow in my faith a lot this year. I trust and look up for myself what they teach and I find no false teaching here. The Porch has been a huge blessing to me.
