Description
Jon Brown & Sean Wilson are back with their Walkmans at the ready, loaded only with cassettes of the very best scores from outer space.  Do you know who has made an interstellar score for the ages whilst simultaneously sonically closing the final chapter of the other greatest trilogy of all time (and space) at the movies? John Murphy, that's who and he joins us for this week's show!  Yes that's right, it's the ravaging return of the Podcast that celebrates Film, TV and Video Game music and the creators thereof, by sitting down with the many magnificent maestro’s involved industry wide to hear their stories about making the notes that emote. This week, sees the return of Liverpool's finest, John Murphy, to talk about his score for the incredible James Gunn's latest blockbuster with heart - 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3'. Just to catch you up on who he is though, this week’s fantastic featured guest is an award winning self taught multi instrumental musician that has written phenomenal scores for some of the best of the best filmmakers working today. He’s written brilliant music for Guy Ritchie for such iconic British movies as ‘Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Snatch’, composed career making scores for Danny Boyle on his films ‘28 Days Later, ‘Millions’ and ‘Sunshine’ and contributed sonic palettes to the mayhem of ‘Miami Vice’ for Michael Mann and the comic book World of ‘Kick Ass’ for Matthew Vaughn. You’ll likely best know him from two of his finest creations - the tracks ‘In A House, In A Heartbeat’ from 28 Days Later and the sublime ‘Adagio In D Minor’ from’ Sunshine’  that went on to be used in dozens of shows, TV commercials, film trailers and much more keeping their respective popularity alive long after the films and soundtracks they were intended for had been released. Lately he’s been working closely with his good friend James Gunn on the music of James film ‘The Suicide Squad’ for DC and ‘The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special’ for Marvel, which of course would bring us directly to why we’re here today, to celebrate and hear more about his unique and game changing score for the latest and final chapter in Gunn’s Marvel magnum opus - ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3’. John recently sat down with Sean & Jon especially, for this all new edition of 'Scoreheads'.
