“As a serving officer, big fan of this Podcast and a UK focussed discussion on defence matters with great guest speakers. Some great insights and I find myself frantically scribbling into a notepad when listening.
The only thing I would say is that it can feel very negative sometimes. Lots of problems, very few tangible solutions to them. It is also occasionally ill-informed. I ‘face palm’ when we say stuff like ‘We just do not train EW’ and ‘Urban Warfare module at ICSC is essential’. These statements just aren’t true, we routinely train in a contested EM Spectrum, and we go into some depth on ICSC in Urban warfare and scenarios.
Perhaps more input from the current serving crop of more junior officers may help address what we are actually not doing, and how we could do it better, as opposed to occasional assumptions that the military is not looking at these issues just because RUSI isn’t.
