Fair minded show with interesting guests
I like Josh and appreciate his reluctance to drift off into conspiracy land but I find that it’s often not that he thinks the conspiracies are wrong more than he himself is uncomfortable with what some of the information within the conspiracy might suggest to be true which would upend some of his assumptions about the nature of society. When presented with facts he will often dismiss them out of ignorance (which is fair bc we can’t be expected to know everything) and then default to an institutionalist appeal to authority without really grappling with what’s been said. That’s not the worst quality in a podcaster but to me it shows he’s curious to hear alternative views but he’s wholly unwilling to change his mind and his brand of curiosity is one in which we wants to hear from “those people” and interact with them at arms length rather than coming to these Uncomfortable Conversations thinking that the person he’s speaking with might actually know something he doesn’t.

One of my favourites. Almost didn’t limit it to Australia. A treat every time there’s a new episode.
