Glaude Jr. joined the faculty of Princeton in 2002. He is the author of Democracy In Black,  Exodus! Religion, Race, and Nation in Early 19th Century Black America, In a Shade of Blue: Pragmatism and the Politics of Black America, editor of Is it Nation Time? Contemporary Essays on Black Power and Black Nationalism and co-editor of African-American Religious Thought: An Anthology, (2004) with Cornel West. In 2009 he was awarded Princeton’s President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching. His research interests include American pragmatism, specifically the work of John Dewey, and African American religious history and its place in American public life.
