Great show! Just a few suggestions...
This is a great new show that touches on a diverse range of topics, mostly political, with a good host and interesting guests. I know it’s in its pilot phase and requesting suggestions, so here’s some: 1. Some of these topics are very specific, and while they’re related to breaking news, I’m embarrassed to admit that sometimes I don’t know the broad backstory before this show delves into some interesting minutia. I think it would help to take a minute and give some quick background for those that don’t know. The show does this to some extent, but let’s assume I’m a working mom of two kids and haven’t picked up a newspaper in ten years, now explain it to me. As the show goes on you can even reference past episodes to listen to first so we’re all caught up. 2. The trailer for the show says that you’ll know “what’s next” at the end of the episode but I’m not left with a lot of direction at the end of each episode. It’s certainly interesting, but perhaps the end of each show should explicitly say what I can do to affect a change, or an outcome, or what to look for in the future as a situation develops. Overall, though, this has been my new binge podcast. Well done and I look forward to more!

More reviews of What Next
So far, so good. It reminds me of the NYT 'The Daily' in its early iterations before it became too polished and full of itself, with music, drama, and production values. Let Pesca be the showman. Keep this one focused on news and analysis.Read full review »
