“I like your podcast, but found myself very HANGRY by your recent “Hangry” Podcast, and feel that I need to set the record straight. West Virginia is not the face of Poverty, Obesity and Drugs. I am from West Virginia (I am not poor, obese or on drugs) and I currently live in Baltimore, MD (talk about a face of drugs). I have had my apartment burglarized; I see heroin addicted people walking in the middle of the streets like zombies… When I go downtown, tents line the sidewalks and are piled high under interstate bridges. There are far more hungry people in LA, San Francisco, New York City, etc.. than in the entire state of West Virginia. I am disgusted by people like “Zac Adams” the "filmmaker" visiting ONE small town in West Virginia and labeling the entire state. I have also traveled the entire US. The poorest state in America statistically (if you want to be technical) is Mississippi... FYI. Mr. Adams, you can thank “President” Obama for the poverty in West Virginia… Many Coal miners went from making closer to 100,000 a year to absolutely nothing. Please don’t label my beautiful state especially with your ugly words. Okay, I’m going to go eat a Snickers now.”
