Smart, funny, Interesting (And thats just the host!)
I've listened to John Dickerson on the Slate Political Gabfest and really come to admire how he can weave together history, context and clarity of thought to make his points. Whistlestop is an excellent vehicle for him to share facsinating stories from the political past that still have a relevance (and often a lesson or two!) to todays world. For someone who spends all their time wading in the dark swamps of political life, he manages to stay remarkably nonjudegmental, unsullied and even-handed; a very rare gift indeed these days!

Growing up as a millennial no history teacher would touch politics or recent history. I have been dying to know more about the 70's. The "tears" episode put so much together for me. Thanks John!Read full review »

One of the gems of any Political Gabfest is when John shares some story from politics of days past. Whistlestop is nothing *but* such stories. Fantastic!

Listened to just one episode and was hooked. John, I am not worthy of the wealth of knowledge to bestow upon me.
