Mesmerizing Memories
I was 18 years old and attending college in Huntsville on Bloody Sunday. But, as a girl growing up in Selma, I understood that any day could be a bloody one if a black person dared to do anything deemed unacceptable to the white establishment. Listening to White Lies brings back painful memories of the first 20 plus years of my life. I appreciate the research, thought, and planning that obviously went into the development of the podcast. I was totally assumed by the storytelling and look forward to listening to further episodes. Kudos to everyone responsible for this podcast. I can hardly wait to share it with others, especially since my daughter played a role in its development.

I was 13 and lived in the north during the civil rights march in Selma. I was very young but felt the pull to go. Of course I didn’t as I was too young. This is true to life what happened in Selma. It is riveting.

Terrific podcast—and what a compelling story. Chip and Andy are excellent guides to a complex and haunting story. Best of all it is so well written!

The first episode is fantastic. As an Alabama-native I’m typically wary of things that try to dig into the mind of the South, but this one appears to be a well researched, deep dive into a story that has been swept under the rug. I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
