“Gave it 3 stars. Was aiming lower but then re-thought about it and decided on three, mainly because the podcast (a term I still do not quite grasp) is a) long winded, and b) seems to be strung over several chapters and episodes without really giving an answer to the unasked questions.
I am an immigrant who lived in several countries prior to settling in the United States. I have heard of racial issues but never was affected by them. Yes, I am caucasian with parental roots of Swiss/Canadian and Austrian descent and as mentioned, grew up in several countries, mostly in the Western Hemisphere, surrounded by people of various colors and religions.
I can not understand the hatred of what are called whites toward people of other races in this country (or any country as a matter of fact.) I do in a way understand the resentment of (mostly) negros (apologies if this offends, but where I grew up, this term never was offensive so I still use it, as it only determines the skin color and not the origin or the person) going back to slavery, civil rights, suffrage, and still today, acceptance in today’s American society. I do see similarities happen here with other non-white skin colored people, and still do not understand it. Living here in Alabama does give me cause to shake my head at several decisions made where it comes to history issues and their displays, and their attempts to change history’s views by trying to erase or remove them.”
