Description
If you’re a parent of a teen girl or soon to be teen, I know you’re not going to want to miss our conversation. Teen girls are special and have their own way of being in the world. Sometimes it’s tough for us, as parents, to know what they’re thinking or how we can help them. Has your teenage daughter ever looked at you like you have two heads? Or maybe roll their eyes, let you have it and then slam the door in your face? Yes, I too remember those days. Sometimes parents feel that someone snuck in the house and replaced their sweet, kind pre-adolescent, with a complete stranger! I thought it would be useful to have a conversation about teen girls, to help all of us understand them a bit better. I’ve invited my guest, Erica Portillo, (http://www.girlzone.com) to join my conversation. Erica is the editor of girlzone.com (http://girlzone.com/challenge), a website for teen girls that promotes a healthy lifestyle (http://gzhealth.girlzone.com)and discovering self -identity. She also works full time as a school counselor at 3 schools in Chicago. Erica has been immersed in the world of preteen and teen girls, working at schools, providing individual and group counseling. Most of her students look forward to meeting with her because it’s an outlet for them. It’s their time to feel free to vent and share anything they’re thinking, feeling, or going through in a non-judgmental environment. Erica is going to share some of her insights with us today to help you reconnect or stay connected with the teen in your life. Hope you'll join us!
