We often complain about children and teens don’t have a good work ethic, they feel so entitled, or they want what they want now. We are left to wonder why at times...what has changed over the past 10 years? Is it the fast pace life that we lead? Is is due to the digital age where kids are granted information within seconds and can download music in an instant. Maybe they don’t have to work as hard as we did? I believe we have all played a part. This generation of kids has so much going for them, yet they often describe feeling scared and lost...unable to make decisions on their own for fear of making a wrong decision or possibly failing. I thought it was time to have a conversation and begin to talk about how we as parents and mentors can make a difference, by teaching children about responsibility and leadership...ultimately, by doing this, we’ll be helping to raise confident young adults.
