Today we’re going to have a conversation about families...about our family we grew up in, the family we create and extended family. The word family, often generates a sense of warmth and closeness for some, but for others not so much, depending upon their family experience.
A child’s first place of learning occurs within their own family. Their relationship with their parents and siblings are key in how they learn to relate with others. Children take these lessons out into the world and into other relationships. As adults those early learnings help shape the way they relate to the world.
I’ve invited my guest M. Peggy Sudol (http://lifeguidance.com) to join my conversation today. Peggy has worked for many years as a marriage and family therapist. She has helped individuals, couples and families find solutions to various situations and emotional concerns. Peggy’s down to earth style is low key and supportive. Listening to peoples’ life stories for over twenty years has helped her develop a sincere sense of compassion and acceptance of our differences as human beings. Helping other discover solutions, when they doubted that solutions existed, is a rewarding experience that she never tires of.
