Wholehearted Parenting – NURTURING AND HEALING OUR OWN INNER CHILD
Listen now
Description
When we begin our parenting journey, we know that we want to be the best parent for our children, right? But often we parent our children as we were parented, or choose to parent 180 degrees opposite the way we were parented. Either way, we bring our own childhood along with us, into our parenting journey, if we’re not aware. To be a conscious or mindful parent, means that we dig deep and look at our own childhood issues, any fear or pain that we may be holding onto it. Our own inner child needs to be nurtured and loved, just as our children do. But it is critical that we parent our own inner child, honoring them and loving them and not look to others, especially our children, to heal our wounds. When we do, this leads to unhealthy expectations and relationships. I thought it would be helpful to have a conversation about our inner child...we all have an inner child. I’ve invited my guest, JP Sears (http://www.Facebook.com/InnerAwakeningsOnline.com), to join my conversation. The purpose of JP's work (http://www.YouTube.com/AwakenWithJP) is to empower people to live more meaningful lives as whole individuals. JP maintains a 1-on-1 client practice and leads workshops and retreats at numerous locations nationally and internationally on a regular basis. While teaching and coaching, (http://www.InnerAwakeningsOnline.com) JP is highly acclaimed for his heartfelt, dynamic, and playful style of delivery. He has a private practice in Charleston, SC where he specializes in emotional healing and overcoming self-sabotage. Please join us...you’ll learn not only what it means to parent from our wounded inner child, but Jp will share what you can do today to begin to parent from wholeness.
