Our two interlocutors see a problem. Todd wants to keep a tension, a tension inclining what is called “leftist.” Ryan makes points more attuned to today’s digital speech. They both at times frame their argument in terms of a bogeyman of the so called “right.” Listened between “lines” they have important things to say. Maybe the Lacanian lingo, maybe the political blind spots, make these discussions beside the point. But when they speak of eros and its role in politics is quite right. If only they could expand on the deeper, more varied, and deeper meanings of “daddy” “mommy” or even “Zaddy!”
