Good interview but too much focus on binary gender roles
Too much focus on binary concepts of “feminine” and “masculine”. I liked listening to what this ultra marathon runner had to say, but the interviewer kept trying to pull the discussion back to a focus on really outdated ideas of what is “feminine” and what is “masculine” that really constructed the discussion to this focus and felt kind of dismissive of the overall experience of the interviewee as a person beyond restrictive gender roles. I found that really off putting. Otherwise I liked hearing what they both had to say about pole.

More reviews of Why We Pole
Love all these stories from pole dancers in the pole dancing community! These various interviews not only break down pole stigmas and share beautiful stories, but they peel back the layers of healing that these dancers have experienced while practicing and performing. Beautiful job, MongQ!

I really like the conversations but I wish she would interview dancers outside LA for a broader perspective on pole!
