Host is boringly obsessed with the supernatural and the show is a gimmick
The host is completely obsessed with the supernatural in a way that’s boring, inappropriate, and incredibly off-putting. It’s like listening to someone discuss in detail how they cut their toenails and listening to them excitedly ask celebrities how they cut theirs. If that sounds revolting, yes exactly. The cards are a gimmick that already feels tired just one month in to the show existing. It’s clear the cards only exist because Rachel Martin lacks any actual skills at listening and interviewing.

I love this idea and it’s so much more insight into the interviewee as a person vs their art or whatever they’re famous far. Chris Pine was incredibly hard to get through compared to Issa Rae and Jenny Slate.

I love hearing these “chats” between Rachel and her guests. It feels so intimate and gentle, without hard probing but still inviting the deep dig.
