“I discovered Wild for Scotland podcast recently and have been drawn to it immediately. As a passionate hiker and outdoor person myself, I love how Kathi and her guests explore the outdoors in Scotland from different angles. They cover societal backgrounds and privileges, explore how to enable access for more people or dwell on the effect of nature on people’s life paths and mental health while also giving advice on how to be safe on hiking or mountaineering tours or protecting the environment. Her questions and topics and way of storytelling are excellent and it is a real pleasure to listen, especially with her impressive research and knowledge. Most episodes come with an added bonus of audio snippets from actual hiking tours. They are so immersive you actually feel like you are right there, walking the Highlands and glens or diving into the magical underwater world of lochs and rivers. You also learn a lot about history and hidden gems and get to know the people who shape the country in this industry. Wild for Scotland is different from other podcasts I’ve listened to as in that it is not just a recorded session in a studio but an actual experience. It often reminds you of radio plays with the informative part on top. I caught myself holding my breath at times or laughing out loud. Highly recommended if you’re interested in Scotland, nature, the outdoors and hiking but also the historical and societal background.”
