Adaptive Harvest Management
What prevents states from performing an annual state-level adaptive harvest management program for turkeys, like the USFWS for waterfowl? Turkey hatches are so cyclical that it would make more sense to adjust the bag limit or stain seasons annually, if necessary, rather than implementing a 5 to 10-year plan. Some states don’t even know how many turkeys they have, so an adaptive harvest management program would be near impossible, I’m sure ~Joey Bell, Tennessee
