“I graduated high school in Oklahoma and manifest destiny was absolutely taught in middle school. “Go West Young Man” was often said when discussing this time period.
I’m also an enrolled Cherokee citizen and except for a paragraph in our Oklahoma history book that covered the Trail of Tears, there was no real discussion of Indian Removal.
I’ve enjoyed binging this series.
