Revisiting my childhood through an adult lens
Listening to all the different perspectives and opinions of Laura and Rose has really made me question how I responded to the books as a child reading them. So much so that I have found and bought a 1971 box set of the books and plan to reread them this summer. While the politics of the podcast don’t resonate with me as much (being from Ontario myself) it’s still interesting to understand why Rose chose to include the anecdotes and politics that she did. My mother read the first books to me and it will be interesting to go back and revisit the possibly questionable passages she might’ve edited for my young ears. I love Laura, I love the books and I love getting to hear how much others have loved her too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas as a writer and as a lover of Little House and Laura. I look forward to continuing to learn about her and Rose.

My childhood summers were dominated by escaping into Laura’s life. It’s been amazing having that experience again, with a fresh twist.
