“I listen to my fair share of podcast, including a few scripted fictions. Windfall is up there with the best of them.
Two episodes in and the world building is unique and writing compelling. However, where this show really shines is it’s production. This is one of the most interesting and best sounding podcasts I’ve ever heard. There are subtleties in the mixing that consistently surprise me, like the forcing of perspective by adjusting room noise around who is speaking. It’s all subtle, never annoying and you would never know unless you listen for it, but it makes the whole production feel more like something out of HBO than a free pod.
One last note - whoever casted this show is a genius. These actors and actresses hit it out of the park with every line and deserve recognition and major accolades. Probably the best acted podcast I’ve heard, even compared to Bubble and Nightfall.
