Bhakti is relating to god with devotion and self knowledge is for ones own satisfaction. Then why should anyone teach?. No reason to teach. It is all up to the student to seek the knowledge.Guru is beyond any comparison because he/she doesn't see any problem but still has the compassion to teach the student to make them see the problem doesn't exists.

Have a clear vision about success in life so that no regret about the past or worries of the future. The present becomes live and available for life to manifest to its maximum possibilities. Bhagavan Sri Krishna in Bhagavad Gita made Arjuna to stand up to the task in front of Him. If Arjuna could resolve his confusion it is the blessings of Bhagavans teachings only.No other miracle can do that. Dissolving in to the Infinite through vision of the self is as though dissolving, because the division is not true. Everything is as though only. Even when we think that our pursuit is to make others happy , the reality behind this is an attempt to see the pleased self. The pleased self is not away from me. It is always there but one has to discover it. Not experientially but being awake to its own real nature which is full and complete beyond any limitations. This limitless existence alone is the basis of all happiness which we experience. This infinite existence when unmanifest it is fullness and when manifest it is happiness.

You have a choice with reference to karma but not with the results. Your actions as an offering to the lord will be the right attitude to Manage "raga" and "dvesha". which is possible if one has got the vision of karma yoga.The yoga of attitudes. The list has 20 qualities in number they are not to be seen as seperate and essentially even if one can attain one quality the other things will come as they are inter connected.We will see the last few qualities said by Bhagavan Sri Krishna in that context. Amanitvadi qualities are essential for the pursuit of self knowledge. One cannot objectify the very subject.So here the method of knowing is unlike any other knowledge. The only saving grace is that the self evident self doesn't required to be objectified to know its reality and to be identified with it as ones swarupa.

We have Mantras to Invoke the blessings of the Lord. Saraswati the goddess of knowledge is the deity invoked through this mantra. Knowledge is not separate from prosperity and wealth etc. So the mantra has "beejaksharas" ( various aspects of the power of the Lord is coded and it becomes complete mantra for the required benifit of chanting it ) To do it continuously is "akhanda nama japa" .

Meditation is complete only by validating everything with Iswara's presence in ones life.
