Description
Lisa Daniel’s guest on this episode of Word for Word is Evana De Lune. Evana is a Melbourne-based performer with over 20 years of dance experience covering jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary and commercial dance styles. She fell in love with the glitz and glamour of burlesque at a young age, but it was only after visiting Maison Burlesque as an adult that she finally took her first steps towards becoming a full-time showgirl. As well as performing, Evana is a burlesque teacher and mentor, sharing her wealth of experience with students at Maison Burlesque in Melbourne and through her own Burlesque Workshops all around Australia.  In addition to her burlesque career, Evana is also a successful model. Her modelling career has helped to establish her as one of the most prominent burlesque personalities in Australia, both on and off the stage, and she has become a role model for aspiring performers and a shining star in the world of burlesque. Despite the challenges of losing her mother as a teenager, surviving bullying at school in a few short years, she has become one of Australia’s most sought-after burlesque performers. Wise for her age, Evana has used her recent ADHD diagnosis to motivate her to even higher aspirations. Word for Word is hosted by Lisa Daniel on JOY Media, produced by Ellen Spalding, Dave Samuel and Vaughan McCarthy.  This episode originally aired on October 14th 2023.
