“As a 62 year old white guy, I can assure you that racism is alive and well within my peer group. I see it, hear it and sometimes even have to tolerate it within my conservative family. Minorities are constantly being blamed for everything! For you not to acknowledge this as pervasive within conservatism only continues to help mask underlying issues that need discussion. The forgotten white working class you mentioned in MI, how about the those folks in Pa, Oh, southern and western red states that have been voting republican for generations, which party gets the credit for their circumstance? How about right to work States, how has that worked out for the working class in those states? Either we come together to find real solutions, or people will continue moving further from the middle on both sides.”
