Italy #1 - Naples, Sorrento, and the Amalfi Coast
Listen now
Description
This week I went to Naples, Italy with the family.  This city has always been fascinating to me because people rarely go there if they also have Rome on the docket.  Furthermore, if they do go, it’s only for a night before going to the Amalfi Coast.  Well we had four nights here, and I was surprised at how much we enjoyed it. Then, we went to our homebase in Sorrento, which is not as ritzy as some nearby Amalfi Coast towns.  Sorrento is livable, with nice people and decent restaurants.  It’s within shouting distance of Pompeii and Vesuvius. We also took a day trip to Positano; the true postcard town on the Amalfi.  It is the end of offseason, and very sleepy there, yet we got to experience the scenery and the magic that make Positano the town to target in this region. Our headlines section is very slow, but there’s never been a better time to get to Italy.  It’s a must for any traveler from the states.  Thanks for listening!
