Overtourism has been a thing for a long time, but post-2020, it seems like many places have gotten worse. Maybe it is the world in its revenge travel era, maybe it is social media, books, and movies/shows, or maybe just a lot of people have always wanted to visit a particular place.
Either way, it is becoming a big problem. From a small town in Vermont banning tourists to protests in Barcelona leaving tourists soaked during dinner, it isn’t pleasant for tourists or locals. How does overtourism impact travel? Will there ever be a peak in tourism? Are we at that peak? How does it impact our travels as well as yours?
