Description
The world of sport has long had an uncomfortable relationship with Trans and Intersex athletes. This continued last week with World Athletics changing its eligibility rules to exclude any female athlete that had gone through male puberty. It also effectively forces unnecessary medical interventions that could cause harm to athletes.
There is no scientific consensus that Trans women have an unfair advantage in sport. Human Rights Watch, who have been campaigning against these types of policies at the elite level for some time, say the policy is built on stereotypes. Their senior researcher, Kyle Knight, joins us in this podcast.
