Andy Weir is the author of The Martian and, most recently, Artemis. Though he's wanted to be a writer his whole life, it was just a few years ago with the runaway success of The Martian that he was able to do so. He's a lifelong space nerd and a devoted hobbyist of subjects such as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight.
