“As a left-leaning person who is seeking a conservative view point to balance my information flow, I say this is not the kind of information I am looking for. I keep listening to this podcast because I don’t think I have another choice of a more reputable center-right/right-leaning voice.
Among the regular hosts, I think Mr. Gigot is more center-leaning and Ms. Strassel is to the further right. I would appreciate a reading of recent events from a conservative view point but solidly based on facts. However, the hosts regularly, and willingly, leave out part of the facts or aspects, and keep hitting on the ones they think support their view. Another big issue I have is the logic of their analyses sometimes is perplexing and self-conflicting. When commenting on Rep’s process of making up the ACA repeal bill, the hosts half jokingly said that “why do the Dems’ keep asking what’s in the bill, everyone knows what’s gonna be in the bill”. Seems like the hosts just hated the ACA so much that they don’t care what is being cooked up as a replacement. If that is the case, what am I getting out of the podcast as a listener? As for the Steele dossier and Mueller investigation, the hosts keep referring to it as “the Clinton campaign funded dossier”, well, it was originally sponsored by a group of Republicans in the Never Trump camp. Also, Ms. Strassel keeps saying that we don’t know the facts and what’s in the dossier and the Mueller investigation, and right away, she will start commenting and discrediting what is being reported and discussed by “the left”. Without the facts, I feel like the opinions being put forward is no better than what’s in Fox News and Alex Jones. Even if the dossier or the Mueller investigation is not water-tight and have some issues, it does not mean they are without merit. Focusing too much on the questionable parts of them overshadows the big picture question of whether there is truth in the dossier and the Russian probe. If any part of the dossier or the Russian probe is to be proven true, the Trump campaign is at fault and shall face consequences.
With these two examples, if anyone ever reads this review, I hope you will have a better idea of what you are buying into.”
