Description
Our first folklore retelling focuses on the legends that surround The Rollright Stones in North Oxfordshire. In simple terms, a king with an army at his back and a witch meeting on the top of a hill. For some reason, the witch takes offence to the king and his army and turns them all to stone, creating some very striking local landmarks. But the story we have doesn't explain why she does it. We've had a go at thinking about the reasons this witch could have chosen such a terrible punishment for these men. Are you Team Retribution or Team Romance?
