How do you become an Artist? In this episode, we learn how 4th graders from our amazing partners at the Voice of Montbello and The Confluence Center at McGlone Academy tapped into their artist selves by engaging in a Poetry Mural Project with artists Adri Norris and Franklin Cruz.  Students met virtually with Franklin, who facilitated engaging and powerful writing experiences that built community and helped young writers surface their inner-artist to write words of inspiration to share with the Montbello Community. Inspired by youth poems during the workshops, Artist Adri Norris designed and painted a mural to honor Selena Quintanilla in the entrance of McGlone Academy. Several of the poems that inspired the mural are included in the piece to uplift students and families in the community.
