Gripping, detailed, and humane
This miniseries exemplifies You Must Remember This and why I desperately wish the show would come back! The research is impeccable, Karina is a gifted storyteller, and I love the the artful blending of film and music history that exemplified the cultural shifts of the time during the Manson cult’s time. How they influenced and were influenced by the culture at large and how films of the time reacted to that culture and the murders themselves is absolutely fascinating. Most importantly, Karina spends a good deal of time letting us get to know the victims as complex human beings, not tragic ciphers.
