“Great reviews and recaps of this show. I started watching in 1994 then lost track when I began working at night. I finally finished every episode last week.
Regarding Benton and his serious demeanor.
It’s not shown at all, but there is racism in the health care field especially at the time depicted in the series. In real life, people of color must perform better, can’t let up, battle mediocre colleagues with connections, etc. I get why he’s portrayed like this. Peter does have a bit of a big ego too. 😉”
