Crucial, must-listen podcast
Tech companies’ massive data extraction operations depend on secrecy and deliberate opacity. So they can maximize our time on devices, we are misled into thinking our relationship with Google, FB, etc., as consumers, is reciprocal. But the relationship is inherently asymmetrical, with them always knowing more than we do, them stealthily harvesting our behavioral data, and them giving us no access to view, edit and delete it. This podcast, with its expert, insider info, is a crucial way to raise awareness. Two thoughts... 1) while you use wonderfully clear and simple language, your content seems targeted to developers and designers. I think a much broader audience—digital marketers, content marketers and just plain scared civilians—is interested. 2) Your “minute away” with Aza and Tristan can be hard to follow, use developer lingo and kind of veer off narrative. But the more detailed and deeper dive is very helpful. Maybe there’s a way to use more universal, non-dev language and bookend the segments...(Perhaps music??) Also, what is the “snap” about? Kind of reminds me of hypnosis, she said nervously...
