Description
Recorded: Dec 3rd, 2016 Today on the show, we’ll discuss the story behind creation of Zcash, the importance of privacy, why the zerocoin protocol was never integrated into Bitcoin and how Zcash eventually evolved into it’s own blockchain protocol. We’re joined by Dr. Matthew Green, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins. He has been largely recognized for his work on privacy-enhanced information storage, anonymous payment systems, and cryptographic engineering. Most importantly for our show, he is one the original creators of Zerocoin protocol from 2013 which aimed to add transactional anonymity on top of Bitcoin. He is also one of the key scientists at the Zcash company, supporting the evolution of the Zcash project.
