In this Q&A session, you will have the chance to understand and debate the true power behind smart cities and what it takes, from the administration side, to move forward towards an impactful smart city project supported on leadership and strategy.
James Noakes recently joined Belfast City Council as a City Innovation Broker working on the city’s exciting smart city programme and supporting the £350m Belfast City Deal.
Prior to this, for several years, he was an Assistant Mayor of Liverpool with responsibility for city services focusing on waste, transport, infrastructure, and grounds maintenance including Liverpool’s smart city programme.
He oversaw £2bn in infrastructure investment and brought a range of innovative approaches to the city. James is a frequent international speaker and writer on environment, sustainability, smart city and Internet of Things issues.
He is a practitioner member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
James is always interested to hear from those engaged in sustainability, technology, environment, smart cities, urban regeneration, service design or travel/transport.
