Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is celebrated the day after Halloween. Some of the key ingredients of this celebration are made of sugar and clay. They are decorative skulls known as calaveras. But calavera is also a term for a poem written for the Day of the Dead.

After thirty summers of gathering and celebrating children with an HIV positive status, Camp Heartland in Willow River, Minnesota is up for sale. Childhood HIV in the U.S. is almost non-existent, leading the camp to have less and less families to serve.

It’s shaping up to be a frightful forecast for Halloween across much of Minnesota as rain changes over to snow — and that snow could be heavy at times.
As of early Thursday afternoon, snow was falling across most of the Twin Cities metro area and in the St. Cloud area. The transition occurred earlier in the day to the south and west.
It reminds us of the infamous Halloween blizzard of 1991. A record setting 36.9 inches in Duluth, 28.4 inches in the Twin Cities.

With just days to go until Election Day and more than 263,000 absentee ballots received by Hennepin County, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that the county must form a new election panel overseeing absentee ballots by Friday, Nov. 1.
