In-Depth, Humanizing Interviews
Ray has this energetic way of engaging his subjects, which makes his interviews revealing and thought-provoking. It’s not just the bands and artists he talks to that makes this show worth listening to, though just skimming the backlog of episodes will reveal that he covers a wide swath of the punk-rock and hardcore community, be it contemporary or “classic;” I might not even know the band that his subject was in, but I am always excited to check out the work of whomever he has interviewed. Rather, it’s the way that Ray is able to get beneath the surface during his discussions and unearths fascinating stories. He asks about family history, about discovering music, about the person behind the art. It’s this sort of humanization that has always defined punk-rock as a genre, so this podcast follows in that tradition. For this and other reasons, 100 WORDS is of the most relevant and interesting punk-rock podcasts.

If you're a fan of hardcore/punk/emo, you NEED to listen to this show. Guests from a variety of bands, and people in the "industry". Ray is a great host who has given this podcast a welcoming tone and personality.
