I’m glad to see others have commented on proper pronunciation. Also M Poirot should be read Monsieur Poirot not Em Poirot. How about doing your research ahead of reading. Also you read too quickly. I think the quality of your voice would improve then.

Recently stumbled into this podcast. Now burning through multiple episodes a day. It enriches my life. Especially enjoy Jack London stories though looking forward to exploring other authors via show. Very grateful to cast host/creator. Wish I could afford to support financially, but I know this...Read full review »

Jon Hagadorns material never fails to please! This podcast as well as his many other shows has given me many hours of entertainment. Jon’s voice is perfect, it’s like he’s sitting at my kitchen table, very engaging!

Thank you for actually reading the story. I am so sick of story podcasts where an AI voice reads the tale. Puhleeeese! A human voice with emotion, inflections, and natural pauses. Who knew that would be so hard to find? Thank you! This podcast is now my sleep story sanctuary.

I very much enjoy listening to these stories while I work. Jon, you are a great narrator. When I read out loud, I have a hard time using the right voice or inflection. You get it spot on almost 100% of the time. Keep up the great work!

I enjoy the stories, when I can understand them. He reads too fast, and doesn’t give the listener time to understand what is being said, much less form the mental image that creates the entertainment. These should be something I can relax with, not scramble to understand one sentence before he’s...Read full review »

John and his stories accompany me on my morning power walk. Getting lost in the story propels me on in order to hear it all before I hit home. Thank you for the smiles and chuckles and thought-provoking along the miles.

This is a fantastic podcast. I spent a couple of months “binge-listening” to every single podcast and I encourage you to do the same. This turns all of your otherwise unproductive time into a joy of entertainment and education from classic stories by excellent authors.

Jon Hagadorn does a excellent job with this podcast. His skills run deep - from quality story selection to fantastic presentation. What a pleasure it is to have Jon along for my car trips and for me to tag along on his weekly adventures. A great travel companion.

Wonderfully read interesting stories. As a homeschooling mother, my children and I read about many of these authors and some of their works. How happy I am to have found more of them and, as a bonus, having them read to me! Thank you John.

Great idea, but his narration is too fast with no inflection. Disappointed. John: thanks but let someone with skills read the stories.

Well narrated. If you’re not versed in the classics, this is an enjoyable and easy way to fill the gaps in your education. And if you’re like me, needing something to keep your ears busy while your hands work, you’ve found the perfect podcast.

A really cute classic story don’t think I’ve ever heard before. A good old time story for the family. Something that reminds me of grandma &grandpa would tell us at bedtime.

I love the stories and the voice of the narrator. His tone is soothing allowing me to relax and sleep which was my main reason for listening. The stories have opened up a new world. I am trying to figure out how to support this endeavor and get rid of the ads.

Just found this, and ceased listening to any other podcasts until the get caught up. This is really a fantastic effort, any reviews less that 4 stars is from a sad and grumpy person. Binge and share, binge and share!

I have so little time to devote to read these timeless stories and now I have an amazing door into the classics chosen and read by Jon. A terrific story teller and a wonderful host. I’m sold!

Love this podcast. I have been searching for a show with classic stories. This collection is an answer to my prayers. The host is a great storyteller and you can tell he puts a lot of effort into the production. Thank you so much!

I feel this podcast deserves two stars: One for effort and one for ambition. The producer has taken on a massive project intending to read thousands of stories. For over five years, he has been doing so under many podcast titles, all beginning with "1001…." Ambitious. He is persistent...Read full review »
