Still Spoiled
I was first introduced to this podcast (and the idea of educational podcasts in general) a few months ago on a long drive, and almost immediately listened to the entire series, re-listened to it, and eagerly awaited new installments. To fill in the time between releases, I've tried other podcasts similar in genre, but Mr. Brownworth is consistently on top. He eschews some of the annoying History podcast norms - playing music, droning on endlessly about reader comments and the webpage, and what - and gets right to the facts as though he were speaking to an old friend. Living in Istanbul it's great to listen to these talks, especially the ones on Justinian and Constantine... I was taking the ferry from Uskudar to Karakoy, and listening to the one on Basil, and just as Brownworth was saying that Basil crossed the Golden Horn after killing the emperor Michael...Read full review »

One of the finest podcasts I have had the pleasure of enjoying. Sets a very high standard for others to try and achieve. I very much look forward to each new episode, and hope Mr. Brownworth will follow this series with another podcasting effort.
