I though the show was oven long ago, glad to be wrong.

I love this podcast, but I'd really appreciate it if they'd record in mono and not stereo.

I'm happy to see this show is back. I missed it. Keep it coming guys.

I'm glad she's back! It was also fun to listen to Roleplayers Realm (poor GamePro), but I'm glad Kat is still podcasting. I await the next episode with anticipation.

I always liked the idea of RPG but I never finished one, and know, thanks to those passionate people, I start to understand how to appreciate RPG and manage them, I also start to finish them. (Persona PSP and Chrono Trigger Ds are the first)

Like RPG's? Fan of snarky video game talk? Geek out over all things Super Robot? Then this is the podcast for you. ATB (and in it's "wake", Role Player's Realm) is what I consider the definitive RPG podcast. It covers all of your leveling up, loot collecting, stat allocating, heavily grinding,...Read full review »

Kat Bailey remains one of the best hosts in an genre dominated by twenty-something white guys. Unlike many other video game podcasts, Bailey manages to keep Active Time Babble (mostly) on-topic, and does not stray from the subject unless it is relevant. Since the podcast's first episodes, Bailey...Read full review »

Really enjoyed this while it was running. Parish was born to be on the radio or something.
DirkDigDuggler via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/16/12
And whilst enjoyable, it's is alarming how consistently dismissive Jeremy is of Kat's opinions. It's as though he has an obstinate need be the smartest guy in the room at all times, which can become quite tedious. Still, it's cool to reminisce the glory days of 1up!
Pixelationist via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/26/12
She seriously knows her stuff. It seems only Jeremy Parish rivals her in gaming knowledge. The topics are interesting and discussion is mature. I don't find the dry humor boring at all. Not all podcasts have to overreach to be zany and wacky. The only quibble I have is the prevalence of...Read full review »

The particpants are knowledgable fans of RPGs who provide an intelligent discussion of the genre in general, as well as specific games -- all without the descent into the adolescent stupidity that occasionally infects other video game podcasts (even the ones I like!). It's interesting,...Read full review »

I enjoy Japanese titles as much as the next gamer, but that's nearly all this podcast focuses on. About 95% of the content revolves around Japanese RPG's. Occasionally they briefly stray to other topics, but it always comes back to a review of the latest portable craze on the subways of Tokyo,...Read full review »

This is just simply a great show from 1UP. Being a relatively new fan of RPGs it's really informative and I just love getting all their recommendations for new and old RPG games. They really know their stuff and the games they recommend are always really good. They really detail the mechanics so...Read full review »

The podcast equivalent of a fan site forum. Nothing is ever good enough, everybody sounds sad and pretentious, someone will make a self-depracating joke followed by a full 5 seconds of dead silence. I love RPGs alot but this podcast drove me to the brink of nerd on nerd violence. I don't know...Read full review »

After a night of screaming baby, nothing soothes my nerves like the dulcet tones of Kat and Jeremy's voices.

At first I thought, were did they find these people. After listening to a few episodes I ran out and bought a ds and realized I am one of these people. Thanks for thx great podcast and keep up the good work.

The dry humor of Parish and the dark ruminations of Sharky combine to make a top-notch pastrami sandwich. Yum!

Ok if you want to hear about the newest rpg releases. The description says they cover classic and pen and paper rpg's. That what got me to subscribe. I listened to 5 episodes and the only talk about classic or tabletop rpg's was in passing while they whent on about the latest new release that...Read full review »

ATB is a fun show devoted to all things RPGs. It's full of informative discussions with a lot of humor. The amount of content per episode is quite extensive and if you love RPGs like me, it's great. The hosts go through everything from WRPGs to JRPGs and everything in-between. They have news for...Read full review »

A great Podcast. Just the level of knowledge of the crew makes it a treat for those over age 25. Also, this podcast has the best female panelists. I guess what makes it good is that these are gaming adults, and not some fifteen year olds in a basement drinkin dew and eating gogurt while talking...Read full review »

This is a great podcast and the only one I listen to from 1UP. The group covers a variety of RPGs and are well versed in the genre. If you haven't already check out their blog, The Grind for more quality RPG news, analysis, and previews.

One of my favorite podcasts, this show is wonderful for RPG nerds who just can't get enough. In particular, the hosts' knowledge of Japanese gaming (and related history) is fantastic.

If you are interested in rpg gaming this show is a real eduaction. The hosts know the genre at a level that befits an academic award. If you are oblivious to the genre listen in anyway and wonder at the geekiest nerd talk you are ever likely to hear. There is real comic material here for you...Read full review »

An RPG podcast worth listening to! Parish and Bailey make the podcast as good as it is. I enjoy listening to them talk about the games I have played and the games I am looking forward to playing. I hope they keep the episodes coming - they make my commute better!

Great podcast for anyone who enjoys RPGs. Each speaker is intelligent and well versed in their own subset of the genre. I also appreciate the multiple perspectives that each castmember brings. Highly recomend!

Super entertaining! Jeremy Parish is brilliant as the host, his drowzy voice is my favorite. I recommend this very highly to any RPG fan! Go and listen.

The podcast is a fresh and inciteful one to two-hour block that gets me through the morning commute whenever it's available. I enjoy Jeremy's input a lot, but I appreciate Kat's as well. Sorry, other than Jeremy Parish, the hosts are completely annoying, self pretentious nerds. The banter is neither interesting nor entertaining.
Sparklepuss via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/11/09
Not a whole of lot episodes so far but the past 3 have been great listens. Parish is overworked, devoting time to Retronauts and 4 Guys 1 Up so I hope he, Bailey, Ray Barnhold and others can keep making episodes.

Already seems to be going down the same road that Retronauts went down. Inconsistency! I really like ATB but never truly knowing when the heck another episode is coming isnt going to do you any favors if you're trying to keep people coming back again and again. 1up podcasts are good at finding their voices, through it's host or participants, themes or topics, they always entertain and are focused enough to keep you glued to them. This latest show is set at a good pace, with insight from people who know their RPG's. Wait your turn, then dowload!

I say mature audience only because frankly, I believe this is the only solid rpg podcast (I've looked....hard) that doesn't have horrible jokes followed by 15 seconds of nerd snickering or fat dudes with the same voice and attitude as the comic book guy from the simpsons. Not that I'm complaining. Now we need Sharkey on as many 1up podcasts as possible. Second best podcast on the 1up network, first being Retronauts.

Jeremy, Kat, Ray, and Shane. I like it. They provide great insight and fun discussion. Active Time Babbling, A.K.A. Shiny Shirt, is a smart podcast and fits well between At 1UP and 4 Guys 1 Up. 'Shiny Shirt' is necessary listening.
