Both Good and Bad [updated]
I gave this curling podcast a try very early in its history and it didn't grab me. But I do understand podcasts tend to find a groove after a while, so when they had a topic that interested me, I gave them another try and it had improved greatly. The interview with Amy Nixon was fantastic listening. So I decided to subscribe. Having Gerry Geurts on was also very good — very deep insider knowledge. And then I got to some straight opinion episodes with the Girls. These are by far the weakest part of the show. In one recent episode, a host said, "maybe I should have done more research." A big Yes to that. A podcaster has to have a higher standard than the discussion you might hear around the table at the Club lounge. The mid 2018 Olympics episode was what made me drop the podcast from my subscriptions — they were throwing people under the bus based on assumptions I knew to be false. It made me angry. So in summary: feature interviews are the best episodes; opinion shows often show lack of preparation, ranging from mediocre to problematic. If you listen, pick and choose your episodes rather than subscribing. Or consider curling podcasts that do it right, like Stone & Straw and From The Hack.Read full review »

I discovered this show way back in 2018 when Mike Harris tweeted out, off hand, that he had done an interview on some obscure underground podcast; and yet I was immediately drawn in. In those days the show was an amateur production, but the girls' likability and enthusiasm for the sport kept...Read full review »

Hilarious and the girls know curling. I’m glad they don’t take the game too seriously. NEVER miss an episode
