“I'd like to first say that 1-star doesn't at all reflect the truth of this series as someone who's listened to every episode (til the finale!)
This is my review of this season in a nutshell - a meticulously crafted love letter to Pokemon that effortlessly drops you into the world of Kanto in the near future, years since Red went on to win the championship. The overall effect is like what The Force Awakens is to A New Hope but in the best way possible. New characters with dynamite chemistry, a story that echoes the events in Red, Blue and Yellow but told in a captivating, unpredictable way. The battles are vibrant but not overlong, the action is packed with endless comedic moments - but the show's effect that will keep you listening is how well it transports you to this world. Also, the level of sound mixing is totally through the roof. Through many roofs.
